Get Healthy With Me | Snacks

Hey guys, it's Fran :) I hope all of you are well. Happy Easter to those that celebrate this holiday. As you probably saw from the title, I am going to start a get healthy with me series, where I will be doing a number of posts with recipe ideas for different times of day. I decided to start with snacks, because who doesn't love snacking?!

I'm going to be showing you, 4 of my favourite healthy snacks:

Fruit Platter:

This is quite self explanatory; just chop up some of your favourite/available fruits that you have at home and place them on a large plate. If you want to add a little extra something you can also add a tablespoon of peanut butter or nutella or even make a fruit dip.

Fruit Dip Idea: 4tbsps (more/less depending on the quantity you want) Greek Yogurt, 1/4 tsp vanilla extract, pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg - mix it up and voila!

Cottage Cheese and Tomato Rice Cakes:

As the sub title states all you are going to need is

2tbsp cottage cheese
1 tomato

Just spread the cottage cheese over the rice cakes, slice the tomato and place them over top of the rice cakes.

Sweet Tooth CripBreads:

2 dark rye crispbreads
peanut butter or almond butter
1 small banana
dark chocolate chips (optional)

Tip - You can also switch the last two snacks by using crispbreads with the cottage cheese and tomatoes, and the rice cakes for the sweet tooth snack!

Banana and Berry Smoothie:

1 banana ( Tip - place it in the freezer for about and hour or two for a creamier smoothie)
1 cup mixed berries
1/2 cup almond milk
pinch of cinnamon
Combine ingredients and blend!

That is it for this post. I hope that you guys liked it. Let me know in the comments which snack was your favourite and share what your all time favourite healthy (or maybe not so healthy) snack is!
Until next time

xoxo, Fran

Tips on how to make the best smoothie + my 2 favourites

Hello guys I hope that you are all having a good Sunday . So now that Spring is literally just around the corner I’ve decided to share with you guys my love for smoothies. I will also be sharing with you guys on how to do two of my favourite smoothies which are very easy and quick to make.

First start by choosing which liquid base you want for your smoothie. It can be milk, or dairy milk such as soya or coconut milk, greek yoghurt or natural flavoured yoghurt, fruit juice or coconut water. It is important to add the base for example the full cup of milk to your blender BEFORE adding the fruits ( or veggies of course) as this will prevent the blade of the blender from getting damaged. We don’t want that don’t we now.

Following add about ½ to ¾ of a cup of your favourite fruit. Mix and match and write them down on a piece of paper for next time. Fruits which  give a lovely and creamy texture are bananas, berries which can be bought frozen, peaches, plums, apples … To help the texture you could simply add some honey or some maple syrup and lastly add a few ice cubes to the blender.

Once its done, you can either enjoy the smoothie or you can get creative by adding something else for a greater taste . One can add many different things such as cinnamon, nutmeg, chopped nuts, oats or even granola (my favourite).

banana smoothie

My favourite all time smoothies are :

Apple - Banana smoothie

 1 banana
1 medium apple ( peel removed)
 ½ almond milk
 2 ice cubes
  a handful of Granola

   Banana smoothie

2   whole Bananas (best with brown flecks on peel)
        1   cups Ice
½- 1   cup Milk/vanilla yoghurt or any liquid base of your choice
        2 teaspoons of honey
        Pinch of cinnamon

Pour all ingredients in blender pouring ice in last. Blend on high for 30 seconds.

I Hope that you like today’s blog post and that it has helped you in any way . I would love to hear what you guys think and do share any of your favourite smoothies down bellow J

Until next time

Love,
Sherxoxo

Fran's Skin Care Routine

Hey guys and welcome back to our blog! Last week Sher shared with you her skin care routine and today I thought I would share mine with you guys so you can get an idea of both of our regimens. I'm going to be telling what products I use and how I use them, in which order, as well as what the importance of each product is. I've been thinking of trying some new products soon as well, probably for weekly use, so if I do purchase them you will definitely be seeing a review soon. Nonetheless, let's get straight into my daily skin care routine.

The first thing I want to mention is make-up remover because it is essential if you do wear make-up. It is important to have make-up remover wipes or some kind of other product whether you wear make-up daily or occasionally. At the moment I've been using the Simple Kind To Eyes Eye Make-Up Remover because it is very gentle on the skin and removes waterproof make-up too.

Then I move on to a cleanser. This will help to remove any remaining make-up from your skin. I realize, especially when using wipes that even after using a number of them I still feel like I could keep using more and there would be make-up left on them. It's like the make-up never goes away completely. A cleanser helps to lift off anything that's left. I only use this product at night, as I do not find it necessary in the mornings. The one that I use is the Simple Kind To Skin Purifying Cleansing Lotion.
I like to apply this product using my electric face brush which I got a few months back. It was very inexpensive and I find it to be very effective. I feel like it helps the skin absorb the product more than when you use your fingers. It comes with various types of brushes and with my cleanser I generally use the sponge.

Face wash is next and once again I like to use a product from the Simple range; the Kind To Skin Refreshing Facial Wash Gel. In my hands, I work a small amount into a lather and apply it to my face. In the mornings I will usually use my hands or a sponge and in the evenings I use my electric face brush once again, this time using the brush with bristles on it.

Before I moisturize my face, I use a toner for smoother skin as well as to tighten pores. The one I've been loving is the Simple Soothing Facial Toner. Apply generously to cotton wool and wipe in gentle upward motions on the skin, both day and night.

Once a week or so I use a facial scrub to exfoliate my skin. An exfoliator removes any dead skin cells, clears your pores and leaves your face feeling super soft and looking more bright. I've been using the St.Ives Apricot Scrub for years now and I swear by it.

Every now and then treat yourself to using a face mask to keep your skin hydrated and feeling fresh. Both sheet face masks and cream versions are good. At the moment I've been using the Simple Deep Cleansing Face Mask.

The last thing that I will be mentioning is the E.L.F Cosmetics Zit Zapper Acne Treatment. When I do have a zit I apply some of this directly after I've finished my skin care regimen, before I go to bed. By the day after it is usually quite reduced.

And that is it for my skin care routine. I know it is quite lengthy, but I do have to say that I have found this method to work really well on my skin and there has definitely been a difference. Do you guys use any of the products mentioned? If so let me know in the comments below. And if you have any products that you use, I would love to give them a go! Thank you so much for staying till the end and I'll talk to you next time!

Xoxo, Fran

My skin care routine - Sher

Hello dolls :) I hope that you are all having a good day or you've had a good day . In today's blog post I will be sharing with you guys what products I use for my skin care routine . I will be also sharing with you the order in which it has to be used and why the product is needed . I will be using 3 products in all so as not to complicate things but will definitely be doing an advanced skin care routine with more products in the future :) . Keep in mind that the 3 most important things in having a bloom skin is to Cleanse, tone and moisturise .

Firstly start by cleansing your face . I use the product Simple as a cleanser because it works miracles on my skin due to being gentle to sensitive skin. In the end of the day it all depends on what your skin type is . Cleansing your skin is important as it helps to remove any debris, oil and make up from your skin. Note that our skin is slightly acidic therefore it is important to tailor the best product to your skin type, ideally it being soap free since soap is generally alkaline and also the product being pH balanced.

The second step is to use a toner. As i mentioned before, your skin is naturally acidic and hence after cleansing, toner helps in readjusting the skin's pH. Toners also remove any last traces of make up and add up vital skin repairing ingredients. For this step I use the Olay essentials which can be used for normal/dry and combo skin types. A generously small amount can be applied on the cotton wall and slowly sweep gently across the face and neck.

Last step is to moisturise your skin and neck. This step is important and not be skipped because ou skin as we get older starts to lose its natural moisturising properties making the appearance of our skin less elastic. I complete me skin care routine by using Olay day or the Olay night cream. It all depends on the time of day .

It's as simple as that :) I swear by this routine as it is nothing near time consuming. Also my skin has been looking clearer than it has even been . However I do love finding new products and trying them out so please comment down bellow if you do recommend any others that you have been loving at the moment.

Until next time

Love,
Sher xoxo
