My January Favorites

Hey lovelies! I hope that all of you have had a good week. Today I've decided to share with you some of the products and items that I have been loving this month. I will also leave some links at the bottom of some of the things in case any of you want to get them as well. It was very difficult to narrow it down to these, but I hope you guys like them.

Beauty

MakeUp

MakeUp Revolution Blushing Hearts Highlight in the shade 'Iced Hearts'

Not only does this highlight have pretty packaging and presentation but it is also very pigmented and long lasting. I've swatched it for you guys in case you are interested:

Chanel Perfection Lumiere Foundation

This blog post just wouldn't be complete if I didn't mention this foundation! I actually bought this towards the end of December and I fell in love with it from the very first use. It lasts for so long and goes on smoothly without creasing, whilst giving very good coverage. I must say though, that it is on the pricey side so I wouldn't recommend it for daily use.

MakeUp Revolution Flawless Matte Eyeshadow Palette

Since lately I've been going a little strong on the contour and highlight I've been wanting to keep my eyeshadow look quite simple and trying to avoid very shimmery colours especially for everyday use. This palette is ideal because they are all matte shades and the colour range still lets you experiment with different looks which is why I really like it.

Perfume

Coco Chanel Mademoiselle

I feel like this perfume is the perfect mix of elegance and luxury. I definitely prefer using this in the evening as the scent is quite strong.

Skin

Victoria's Secret Cream Wash, Body Lotion, Body Oil

I cannot even begin to descibe how amazing these products are! They leave your skin feeling so soft and silky! I will definitely be repurshasing them once I run out. They have a variety of scents from this range but the ones that I use are Coconut Milk.

Fashion

Faux Fur Jacket

This has definitely been my favorite clothing item this month and I've been wearing it for nights out because it is so glam but it keeps you warm at the same time in this cold weather.

TV Shows

This month Pretty Little Liars came back with the 5 Year Jump and I must say that I have been loving how much things have changed, even though at the same time it seems like the liars are back to their old habits. I can't wait to see what happens next!

I'm also rewatching Greys Anatomy at the moment whilst I wait for new episodes to come back and I had to add it to my favorites anyway because this series is pretty much my favorite tv show ever or it is definitely up there with my top 3! Are any of you guys total Greys Anatomy fans too??

Movie

Spy - Even though this movie was actully released last year I only had time to watch it now. It is so funny, and I would definitely watch it again. Not to mention the fact that there were two of my favorite actresses working on this movie (Melissa McCarthy and Rose Byrne).

Book

Love From Paris by Alexandra Potter

The story of this book is really beautiful and romantic whilst being funny and quirky at the same time.

Food

Sushi

Greek Yoghurt

Randoms

So, really I added this section simply because I think it justifies the fact that I want to share with you guys my favorite scented candle from this month. If you are more of a sweet scent kinda gal then you are going to love this! This is the Yankee Candle in the scent Fireside Treats. My room basically smells like a packet of marshmallows exploded in it.......... and I love it.

Another random favorite is my new throw pillow that I got for Christmas. It's so cute and basically shows some of my favorite things ever (cupcakes, macaroons. light pink, perfume and Paris). Plus I think it looks so vintage and shabby chic and I really like those styles.

And this brings us to the end of this post. Thank you for sticking to the end. Comment down below your favorite product/item that I showed you or tell me your January favorites.

I'll talk to you guys next time!

Basic cupcake recipe

Hello dolls hope you are all doing well. Today I would like to share with you this recipe as it is really straight forward to make with only a few ingredients.
To make ten cupcakes you will need :

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 cup of white chocolate bits or brown chocolate ( your choice ) ( i used white chocolate bits)
  • 10 baking tins

1) Start by preheating the oven to 165 degrees or 325 F.
2) Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl.
3)In a bigger bowl, cream together the melted butter , brown sugar and white sugar until blended well. Beat in the vanilla , egg , and egg yolk until it becomes creamy . Mix in the dry ingredients until  blended . Sprinkle the chocolate chips and stir gently with a wooden spoon .Transfer the cookie dough ¼ cup at a time into the cake tins .
4)Bake for about 15-17 minutes in the preheated oven until cupcakes turn golden.

Let them cool for about 10 minutes and enjoy a tasty warm cupcake accompanied with a hot beverage !  Hope you like them !

8 Tips To Stay Healthy and In Shape

Hey dolls and welcome back to our blog!

So we are already coming towards the end of the first month of 2016 and I don't know how all of you are doing with your New Year Resolutions if you have made any, but I was kind of failing at one of mine. I was all motivated to 'get fit' and 'eat healthy' towards the end of 2015, so in order to try and get some of that motivation back I was thinking of some tips that I find work for me to try and get back in shape. Then I thought, why not make a blog post about it and share them with you guys. So, enough with the long intro and let's jump straight into it. Here it is , 8 tips to stay healthy and in shape:

1. Set small and realistic goals:- Basically if you don't usually work out, you are not going to become fit overnight and if you do not usually eat so healthy it is difficult to make a transition from one day to another. Start by setting small goals and always adding on once you have achieved something. For example start by working out at least twice a week, and once you get used to that add another day or two to that. Or if you eat too many sweets (I am so guilty of this!) start by cutting down on the sugars and replacing them with healthier options.

2. Eat only when you are hungry:- A lot of the time I find myself snacking on crisps or other unhealthy junk because I'm bored studying or because I'm watching a Tv show/movie, even if I am not hungry at all. Cutting out that extra snacking can make a huge difference since you are avoiding those extra calories which you do not need and that the body stores as fat.

3. Healthy Mind, Healthy Body :- I think that this is one of the most important points because when people think of 'Health' many times what comes to mind is the physical body, when in reality mental health plays such an important part. Take time to get off social media and to set aside those study books and really take some time to clear your mind - go jogging or on a hike, take a bath, do some yoga or stretches or anything else you find helpful for you. And this brings me to my next point..

4. Pamper Yourself :- Sometimes you just gotta de-stress and take care of yourself, so every now and then treat yourself and find time to relax-- like taking a bath, or using all of your favorite skin care products or buying something new ( a dress, a pair of shoes, some makeup..).

5. Prepare Beforehand :- If you know it is a work out day tomorrow, plan out your day from before to make sure that you leave enough time to work out. Or, if you know you are going to be too busy to prepare a healthy meal have some ideas to be prepared or even perhaps prepare the meal the day before to find it ready.

6. Move Your Body :- Exercise is such an important part to staying healthy and in shape so definitely try to find time to work out at least 3 times a week or else just take 15 minutes out of your day to stretch or just put on your favorite music and dance it out. ( Dancing it out is a really awesome way to stay in shape because it is so much fun and you get to burn calories too! )

7. Drink Lemon Water :- Apart from the fact that we should all drink about 6-8 glasses of water a day, lemon water is also a good addition to your morning routine because it has so many benefits. This is something I actually do every morning - just squeeze some lemon juice into your favorite mug and add warm (not boiling!) water to it and if you prefer you can also add some honey for a better taste. This actually helps digestion and acts as a detox and also clears your skin amongst many other benefits.

8. Don't get rid of all of the junk food in your cupboards :- What I mean by this is that a lot of people when they are trying a lifestyle change or they want to lose weight they will decide that it is best to not buy any junk food at all, whatever it is that they really like or usually crave. The probability is that the next time you go out, or you are at party or a friends' house and you find a cupcake or donut or whatever it is you love, you are going to want it so badly and probably binge on it after having cut out the sugar from your diet completely and suddenly. My suggestion would be to keep a cupboard or drawer where you keep only these treats so that when you feel like eating something you know that you are going to have to open that drawer and sometimes you actually take a step back. (*Disclaimer* - not everyone's mindset works the same, some people actually prefer cutting out instead and it might work for them, so this is simply a tip that I find works for me)

So this is it for this post. I hope that you guys enjoyed it and have found it helpful in some way. If you have any tips of your own feel free to share them in the comments below.

Make up Brushes Guide

There is a ton loads of brushes out there and it can be so frustrating when going into a beauty store and not knowing which one to pick and how to apply it to its own use.

It is completely understandable to not know what each brush is actually used for since there are so many brushes . Don't worry i have been there , i felt the same way as well and now that i have researched and got to know more about the different types of brushes I felt inspired to share with you guys a list of essential brushes on how you should use them and when to use them. Below you will find brushes for your face, eyes and even brows in getting them in perfect shape ( on fleek  ). One important thing to keep in mind is the difference between natural brushes and synthetic . Natural brushes are best with powdered products while Synthetic brushes consist of bristles which are best with liquid or cream powder.

Now that you know the difference between the two of them we can take it to the next level by identifying each brush one by one :

Foundation brush : It is a synthetic brush therefore it can be used for applying the foundation cream Gently put a small amount onto the back of your hand and pick up some foundation with the brush. Start by applying it to the centre and sweep outwards so that you can blend the make up onto the nose, forehead , cheeks and chin. Blend slightly in circular motions to prevent any tiny make up lines from showing.

Concealer brush : A narrow synthetic brush with a slight edge. Place some     concealer under the circle of your eyes and edges of your nose and gently blend in the skin.

Kabuki Brush & powder brush :  the kabuki brush is a huge yet soft brush very similar to the powder brush which is also soft but with natural fibres.  The bristles of the kabuki brush on the other hand are densely packed . It is used to apply powder foundation allowing to add coverage. Slowly swirl the brush on the product and then swirl it across the skin in circular motions.

Blush brush : a soft medium- full round brush . Smear it into the powder and gently swirl the soft natural bristles on your cheekbone and glide along it at an angle .

Contouring brush : a soft brush with a flat angled edge which is used for bronzing. It is used for contouring under the cheekbones, temples and jawline for perfect results. For improved results you can use the same brush of the fan brush as to apply the highlighter for a shimmering look. This would be the final touch to your face .

Eye shadow brush : use a smooth eye shadow and place it across your eyelids in a wind-shield wiper motion for a phenomenal colour.

Blending brush : use a darker colour and use in circular motions in your eye crease and softly blend in the colours used for an intense colour.

Angled eyeliner brush : use cream, gel or even eyeshadow and place the bristles on your lash line and start from the inside corner of your eye along the lash line.

Eyebrow brush : a small angled brush used for filling in the eyebrows with brow powder for amazing outcomes and finally use a brow comb and gently comb through for smooth brows .

That's it for this post i hope that you found this information useful :) Let me know in the comments what your favourite must have is . Thanks for tuning in dolls and have a great day :)

Love,
Sher xoxo
